For all those who upgraded to Windows Vista on their current XP machine, this is no surprise. When Vista came out, I set up my best computer as a dual boot. When I fired up my computer, I could choose Vista or XP. To make a long story short, I completely removed Vista after about a month of use.
Now someone has done "real world" tests of Vista vs XP on 3 of his computers. It comes as no surprise to me, or anyone else who has tried a Vista upgrade, that it is slower than XP.
The article is well written and explains all the places that Vista suffers performance decreases. You can find it here at The Register / regdeveloper
Oh Microsoft, after all those years of development, why have you done this to us?
